MRAT Compensator for FN Reflex Pistol

The MRAT Compensator the FN Reflex is a direct thread-on compensator that reduces muzzle rise by 30-40% (depending on ammunition). 

Key Features: 

• The unique angled port of the Apex MRAT compensator redirects gases to reduce felt recoil and reduce muzzle rise, allowing for faster sight acquisition in a continuity of fire scenario. 
• The built in clamp is Wire EDM cut into the profile of the MRAT, allowing for fast and secure mounting and removal from the host barrel without the need for thread locker compounds to be applied or removed. 
• The clamp screws must be torqued to 25 in-lb. 
  • DO NOT USE THREAD LOCKER ON THE MRAT THREADS / CLAMPING SCREWS.

This product was tested with a variety of SAAMI spec ammunition; from the lightest “target” rounds to +P duty rounds. Hand loads with less than SAAMI spec pressure may induce malfunctions.

Testing Note

Our product testers reported a reduction in “trigger pinch” after each shot with this MRAT installed.   The reduction in trigger pinch is accomplished by the compensator redirecting barrel gasses upward, to keep the muzzle down between shots.... Less snappy muzzle rise & trigger pinch = more fun on the range.

About This Mounting Method

This new mounting system for the MRATs is the result of nearly 2 years of experimentation and testing.  We wanted to provide our customer with a compensator that would stay in place once installed but be easily removable so end user can remove it for cleaning or suppressor use.

Our unique Wire EDM cut through the threads offers a couple of advantages that other “Screw Clamp” type compensators don’t.  1)By locating the 2 clamping screws on opposite sides of the barrel threads, we’re able to assure equal clamping force on both sides of the barrel, this prevents the compensator bore from becoming misaligned with the barrel bore and drastically shifting the point of impact. 2) By using the wire EDM to make the clamp cut, we were able to maintain more thread to barrel contact which means more clamping force directly on the barrel threads, keeping the compensator from coming loose.  3) By offering a compensator that threads right onto a standard threaded barrel, customers only need a threaded barrel to swap back and forth between a suppressor or compensator.
